These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which Waste Clearance Hounslow provides waste collection and related services to residential and commercial customers. By booking a service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, you should not book or use our services.
In these Terms and Conditions, the following expressions have the meanings set out below:
Customer means the individual or business who requests and pays for our services.
Service means any waste clearance, waste collection, removal, loading, transportation, recycling or disposal service provided by Waste Clearance Hounslow, including any related labour.
Agreement means the contract between Waste Clearance Hounslow and the Customer formed in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
Waste means any items, rubbish, goods, materials or substances presented by the Customer for removal, whether household, commercial, garden or bulky waste, but excluding prohibited or hazardous items unless expressly agreed in writing.
Waste Clearance Hounslow provides waste collection and clearance services within its operational area, including the collection, loading, transportation and lawful disposal or recycling of Waste.
Unless expressly agreed in writing, our Service does not include cleaning of areas after clearance, dismantling or disconnecting fixtures, fittings or appliances, or providing access equipment such as scaffolding or lifting machinery.
We reserve the right to refuse to handle any items that we reasonably believe may be hazardous, illegal, excessively heavy, unsafe to move, contaminated, or otherwise unsuitable for collection.
3.1 Booking requests
You may request a booking by telephone, email or any other method we make available. When you contact us, you may be asked to provide details such as your name, address, contact information, access instructions, type and estimated quantity of Waste, and preferred dates and times.
3.2 Estimates and quotes
We may provide an estimated price based on your description of the Waste and access conditions. This estimate is not binding and may be adjusted on site once our team has inspected the Waste and any access or parking requirements.
A final quote will normally be provided on arrival before work commences. If you agree to the quote, an Agreement is formed and we will proceed with the Service. If you do not agree, we will leave the site and no Service will be provided, except that we may charge a call-out fee if this has been communicated to you in advance.
3.3 Confirmations
Your booking is only confirmed when we have accepted your request and provided you with confirmation of the date, approximate arrival time and any special conditions. We will aim to arrive within an agreed time window, but times are approximate and may be subject to traffic and operational delays.
3.4 Access and parking
You must ensure that our team has clear, safe and lawful access to the property and the Waste, as well as suitable parking for our vehicle. Any parking restrictions, permits or charges must be advised at the time of booking. You are responsible for any parking costs or penalties incurred as a result of incomplete or inaccurate information provided by you.
You agree to:
Provide accurate information about the type and volume of Waste, location, access and parking arrangements.
Ensure that you are present at the property at the agreed time, or that an authorised representative is available to grant access and approve the Service.
Ensure that the Waste is clearly identified, is accessible, and does not contain prohibited, hazardous or illegal items unless previously disclosed and agreed.
Comply with any reasonable instructions given by our team to ensure safe and efficient completion of the Service.
5.1 Pricing structure
Prices are generally based on the volume and weight of Waste, type of materials, labour required, and any additional services such as dismantling or special handling. The final price will be confirmed at the site after inspection.
5.2 VAT and additional charges
All prices are stated exclusive or inclusive of VAT as notified at the time of booking. Additional charges may apply for heavy loads, difficult access, extra labour, waiting time, out-of-hours work or special disposal requirements. These will be explained before you confirm your acceptance.
5.3 Payment terms
Unless we have agreed credit terms in writing for business customers, payment is due immediately upon completion of the Service. For domestic customers, payment may be required in full on the day by cash, card or any other payment method we accept at that time.
We reserve the right to require a deposit or pre-authorisation for larger or specialised jobs. If a deposit is required, the booking will not be confirmed until the deposit has been received.
5.4 Late payment
If payment is not received when due, we may charge interest on the overdue amount at the statutory rate and recover reasonable costs incurred in enforcing payment. For business customers, we may also rely on applicable late payment legislation.
6.1 Cancellations by the Customer
You may cancel or reschedule your booking by contacting us. We ask for as much notice as possible so that we can reallocate resources.
If you cancel more than 24 hours before the scheduled arrival window, no cancellation charge will normally apply, unless a non-refundable deposit was specifically agreed. If you cancel with less than 24 hours notice, we may charge a reasonable cancellation fee to cover costs incurred.
6.2 Cancellations by us
We may cancel or reschedule the Service due to operational reasons, staff availability, vehicle breakdowns, severe weather, safety concerns, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control. We will notify you as soon as reasonably possible and offer an alternative appointment. We will not be liable for any loss you may incur due to such cancellation or delay, but any pre-paid amounts for services not provided will be refunded or credited.
6.3 Failed collections
If our team attends the property at the agreed time but is unable to complete the Service due to factors within your control, such as no access, unsafe conditions, inaccurate information, or absence of an authorised person to approve the work, we may treat this as a failed collection and charge a reasonable call-out or waiting fee.
7.1 Compliance with waste regulations
Waste Clearance Hounslow operates in accordance with applicable UK waste management legislation and guidance. We aim to dispose of Waste responsibly by using licensed waste transfer stations and recycling facilities wherever feasible.
7.2 Prohibited or restricted items
We cannot collect certain types of waste without prior agreement, including but not limited to:
Asbestos or materials containing asbestos.
Chemicals, solvents, oils, paints and similar liquids.
Clinical or medical waste, syringes or sharps.
Gas cylinders, fuel containers or pressurised vessels.
Explosives, firearms, ammunition or other dangerous items.
Any items that it would be unlawful for us to handle or transport.
If such items are discovered among your Waste and were not disclosed at the time of booking, we may refuse to remove them, adjust the price, or terminate the Service without refund.
7.3 Duty of care and ownership of Waste
By presenting Waste for collection, you confirm that you are the owner of the items or have the owner’s authority to dispose of them. Ownership of Waste will transfer to Waste Clearance Hounslow at the point of loading onto our vehicle, subject to any hazardous or prohibited items which remain your responsibility.
We will provide a waste transfer note or similar documentation where legally required, especially for commercial customers. You must keep such documents as part of your legal duty of care.
We are committed to operating safely at all times. Our team may refuse to carry out any activity that they reasonably believe to be unsafe, including entering confined spaces, working at height without suitable equipment, or lifting excessively heavy items without sufficient manpower or mechanical assistance.
You must inform us of any known hazards at the property, such as structural instability, broken glass, dangerous animals, or contaminated materials. We may stop work if a serious risk is identified, and you may still be liable for reasonable charges incurred up to that point.
9.1 Our responsibility
We will exercise reasonable care and skill in providing the Service. If we damage your property as a result of our negligence, we will either arrange repair, replacement, or compensation, at our discretion, taking into account fair wear and tear and the age and condition of the property.
9.2 Exclusions of liability
We are not liable for:
Pre-existing damage or defects to items or property.
Minor scuffs, scratches or marks that are reasonably foreseeable when moving large or bulky items through tight spaces.
Loss or damage arising from faulty or insecure fixtures, fittings or structures.
Consequential, indirect or purely economic losses such as loss of profit, loss of business, or loss of opportunity.
Any damage or loss arising from your failure to comply with these Terms and Conditions.
Nothing in this Agreement limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.
9.3 Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability to you in respect of all losses arising under or in connection with the Service shall not exceed the total price paid by you for the relevant Service.
If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of the Service, you should notify us as soon as possible, and in any event within 48 hours of completion, providing clear details and any supporting information. We will investigate and aim to resolve the matter promptly, which may involve inspecting the property or requesting photographs.
Nothing in this section affects your statutory rights as a consumer, where applicable.
We collect and process personal data such as your name, address, contact details and payment information for the purposes of managing bookings, providing services, handling payments, and fulfilling legal obligations such as waste transfer documentation.
We take reasonable steps to keep your information secure and only retain it for as long as necessary. By using our services, you consent to such processing of your personal data in accordance with applicable UK data protection law.
We shall not be in breach of this Agreement or liable for delay in performing, or failure to perform, any of our obligations if such delay or failure results from events or circumstances beyond our reasonable control. These may include, but are not limited to, extreme weather, strikes, lock-outs, transport disruptions, accidents, fire, flood, or legal restrictions.
We may update or amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The version in force at the time of your booking will apply to that Service. It is your responsibility to review the latest terms available when you make a booking.
If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found by a court or competent authority to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, that provision shall be deemed deleted and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
These Terms and Conditions and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them, their subject matter or formation, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
You and Waste Clearance Hounslow agree that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions or the provision of our waste clearance services.
